British tourist confirmed as Vietnam’s 33rd Covid-19 patient

(VOVWORLD) - A 58-year-old British man, who toured the ancient town of Hoi An after sharing a London-Hanoi flight with Hanoi’s first Covid-19 patient, has tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

The unnamed man, the 33rd confirmed case in Vietnam so far, has been quarantined, the Ministry of Health said Tuesday. He is the latest case among those who traveled from London on Vietnam Airlines flight VN0054, in the business class, last Monday. There were 201 passengers on the flight, including 21 in the business class.

16 of the 33 Covid-19 cases in Vietnam have been cured. The outbreak has thus far spread to 115 countries and territories around the world, killing over 4,000 people.
