The event is part of ongoing Buddhist cultural week, celebrating Lord Buddha’s 2562nd birthday and the 55^th anniversary of the self-immolation of Venerable Thich Quang Duc.

Monks, nuns, and followers gave gifts to 1,000 disadvantaged families and burned incense at monuments. The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Ho Chi Minh City held an exhibition about the life of monk Thich Quang Duc at Quoc Tu pagoda.
