(VOVworld) – On Thursday a ceremony was held in Cambodia’s Kampong Chhnang province to start the refurbishing of a memorial of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and the province’s Independence Monument. Governor Chhu Chan Deon appreciated the support of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers to topple the Khmer Rouge genocidal regime in January, 1979. He said that the refurbishing of the memorial signifies the friendship and solidarity between Cambodia and Vietnam.
