(VOVworld)- Spokesman for the Cambodian National Police Lieutenant General Kirt Chantharith, on Wednesday said security forces have been deployed to ensure security during the election campaign towards a general election slated for July 28. He added that the country will deploy about 20,000 security officers during the one- month election campaign to ensure security for all political parties and voters. Three armed security personnel will be deployed at each polling station. According to the National Election Committee, nearly 9 million Cambodians are eligible to cast their ballots to vote for 123 parliamentary seats. Eight political parties will compete in the forthcoming election including Cambodian People's Party (CPP) of Prime Minister Hun Sen, the main opposition Cambodia National Rescue Party (NRP) led by self-exiled leader Sam Rainsy and the royalist Funcinpec Party headed by Princess Norodom Arun Rasmey.
