Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Tea Banh, told the media after returning from the Shangri-la Dialogue in Singapore over the weekend: “I met the Singaporean Defense Minister to raise the issue about Singapore’s view of history. We have to express our opinion, especially when the Singaporean Prime Minister says that the Vietnamese army invaded Cambodia.  It’s not true and not reflective of the history. I want him to make a correction. It conveys a totally wrong view about history.”

Deputy Prime Minister Tea Bank confirmed that the Vietnamese volunteer soldiers helped save Cambodian people from the Khmer Rouge genocidal regime.

Cambodian parliamentarian Hun Many said the Singaporean leader should not overlook the Khmer Rouge’s brutality and genocide. He affirmed that Vietnam was the saviour of Cambodian people from the Khmer Rouge.
