At the ceremony, Nguyen Ngoc He, Vice Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee, said that it is the result of long-term negotiation efforts between Vietnamese and Chinese agencies. He underlined future tasks to have more local durian officially exported to China.
"It is necessary to guide farmers and cooperatives to flexibly and effectively harvest durian base on market signals and business orders. I hope that the businesses will be more active, work closely with cooperatives and farmers, apply scientific and technical advances to production, strengthen trust and expand market diversification," said Mr. He.
This shipment will arrive in China in two days, opening up new opportunities for the agricultural industry in Can Tho city in particular and the whole country in general.
