Can Tho has potential to become one of most livable cities: PM

(VOVWORLD) -Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has praised the Mekong delta city of Can Tho for its beautiful orchards, diverse food delicacies, and attractive tourism destinations.

Addressing a conference on investment promotion in Can Tho in Friday, Mr. Phuc said: “Vietnam has most livable cities life Da Nang and Hoi An. Can Tho has the potential to become one of the most livable cities. All ministries, sectors, and businesses, particularly the tourism industry should work closely with other sectors to create a value chain and develop the economy of the whole Mekong delta region.”

PM Phuc called on Can Tho to fully tap its potential in tourism by attracting 8 million visitors this year, develop its rice, fruit, and seafood production, and focus on processing industry to create higher-added value. 

At the conference, Can Tho city called for 5.4 billion USD in investment in 54 projects. Most involve agricultural infrastructure, industrial parks, IT, logistics, energy, real estate, and infrastructure for culture, sports, and tourism.
