Can Tho is nucleus of the Mekong Delta region, says PM

(VOVWORLD) -Can Tho city is the central urban area, the nucleus of the Mekong Delta region and the Government has submitted to the National Assembly for promulgation a Resolution on piloting specific mechanisms and policies for Can Tho’s development, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said.

Meeting voters in Can Tho city on Sunday, Prime Minister Chinh said the Government has allocated resources to help Can Tho implement key projects on transportation and climate change response. He promised that the central budget will continue to support Can Tho in investing in medical equipment in districts and municipal Center for Disease Control and anti-erosion embankment for the city's development.
He also outlined key orientations, tasks and solutions for Vietnam’s socio-economic development in the second half of 2022 and beyond, requesting proactiveness, flexibility and creativeness to make good use of opportunities for quick recovery and sustainable development. Ensuring macroeconomic stability, inflation control, and major balances of the economy will continue to be prioritized, he said.
On Saturday, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27) Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited and gave gifts to policy families in Can Tho city.
