(VOVworld) – Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has announced that Canada will donate 12.9 million USD over five years from 2015 to 2020 to the Vietnamese Cooperative Enterprise Development (VCED) project. The project aims to increase the competitiveness of Vietnamese agricultural cooperatives and create economic opportunities for small farmers, particularly female farmers. The project will help develop a national strategy to scale up and replicate the success of high-performance cooperatives and will leverage Canadian expertise in agriculture to improve sustainable agriculture production in Vietnam, strengthen cooperative management practices, and expand access to new markets. It will be implemented through the Society for International Cooperation Development (SOCODEVI).
