Mr Nhan said Vietnam wants bilateral ties with Canada to develop comprehensively for the two countries’ benefit, and for peace, stability, and cooperation in the world.

He said he hopes Canada will continue providing ODA to Vietnam, adding that Prime Minister Trudeau’s tenure is an important opportunity for both to strengthen all-round cooperation and friendship.

Mr. Nhan called for more exchanges of delegations of high-ranking officials and more people-to-people diplomacy between political and social organizations.

He said Vietnam wants to learn from Canada’s experience in governing a multi-racial and multi-cultural nation and in building smart cities.

Ambassador Kitnikone said she hopes Vietnam will create favorable conditions for Canadian enterprises to do business here, particularly in dealing with environmental pollution, salt intrusion, and poor air quality.

She said despite global challenges, Canada will continue to support Vietnam in climate change and food security.
