Catalonia ex-leader asks Germany to deny extradition
(VOVWORLD) - Catalonia’s former President Carles Puigdemont called on the German government to refuse to extradite him to Spain, German media said Thursday.

Puigdemont’s lawyer Wolfgang Schomburg said Berlin should immediately turn down the request to turn his client over to Spain, adding that he will appeal to the German Federal Constitutional Court unless Mr. Puigdemont is freed.
Germany’s Schleswig-Holstein Supreme Court has ruled that Mr. Puigdemont’s extradition will not happen before the Easter Holiday and for now he will remain detained in Germany.
