(VOVworld) – More than 130 people are dead and injured in a mass stabbing attack on Saturday night at Kunming railway station in China’s Yunnan province. Chinese authorities have claimed the incident a violent terrorist attack that had been planned.

Chinese President Xi Jinping has asked competent agencies to investigate the incident, stressing that the authorities would strictly punish the terrorists in accordance with the law. Local authorities blamed Xinjiang "separatist forces" for planning the attack. UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon on Saturday strongly condemned the attack in Kunming and expressed his hope that the culprits would be brought to justice.
