Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying said Monday that she hopes the US will honor its commitments and create favorable conditions for the talks.

Two months after US-Chinese talks on ending the trade war broke down, both sides are trying to temper hopes for a breakthrough when negotiations resume.
