China’s foreign policy consistent, stable after 20th CPC National Congress

(VOVWORLD) - Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi has hosted diplomats from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations in Beijing. 

He told them about the major achievements and impact of the 20th CPC National Congress, which concluded over the weekend.

Wang Yi stressed that China's development will bring important opportunities and great benefits to countries around the world, affirming that China's foreign policy will maintain continuity and stability.

He said China will continue to consider neighboring diplomacy a top priority, and is willing to work with ASEAN countries to realize common development toward prosperity, and move towards modernization together.

Mr. Wang said that global governance has ushered in the "Asian moment", as ASEAN countries will host three important multilateral meetings this year, namely the G20 Summit, the APEC Summit, and the East Asia Summit.

He hopes that ASEAN will uphold independence, focus on cooperation, respond to global challenges with a sense of community, and make contributions to regional and global governance.
