Yi told the media on Thursday after the summit that the two heads of state had a comprehensive, in‑depth, strategic, historic and directional summit for 4 hours.

Yi said President Xi’s visit to the US, his first in six years, and the first face-to-face meeting of the two leaders in a year underscores the historic continuity and contemporary value of US‑China presidential diplomacy.

He said the summit continues the series of friendly exchanges between President Xi Jinping and President Joe Biden over the years and will certainly become a milestone in the history of Sino‑US relations.

Both sides have reached consensuses on more than 20 points including politics, diplomacy, people-to-people and cultural exchanges, global governance, and military security.

According to Beijing, the meeting was “positive, comprehensive and constructive”, clearly pointing out the directions for improving and developing relations between China and the US.
