Chinese coast guard ships detected near Japan-China disputed islands

(VOVWORLD) - Four Chinese ships have been seen in areas adjacent to Japan-claimed territorial waters, according to the Japanese Coast Guards.

Japan's 11th regional headquarters, based in Okinawa spotted the boats at 10 am on Tuesday in waters near Uotsuri-shima of Japan’s Senkaku island which is called Diaoyu in China. The ships left after about 90 minutes. Japanese patrol boats are monitoring them and warning them to stay out of their waters. It is the 11th such incursion this year off the Senkaku Islands. The Japanese Foreign Ministry lodged a protest in a phone call to the Chinese Embassy in Tokyo.
