Chinese Premier starts Australia trip

(VOVWORLD) - Chinese Premier Li Qiang arrived in Adelaide on Saturday for a 4-day official visit to Australia.

According to a statement from the Chinese embassy, Australia is “uniquely positioned to connect the West and the East” and stands as “an important force of economic globalization and world multipolarity”. Li Qiang stated that Beijing wants to renew its cooperative relationship with Canberra and is "ready to cooperate with Australia". And at the same time, he affirmed that "a more mature, stable and effective comprehensive strategic partnership will be the common asset of both countries".

During his stay, Li and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese will co-chair the ninth China-Australia Annual Leaders' Meeting and jointly attend a China-Australia CEO Roundtable Meeting. The two countries will sign an agreement to resume the annual strategic economic dialogue and promote bilateral cooperation in the fields of mining and renewable energy.

 Li Qiang is the first Chinese Premier to visit Australia in the past 7 years. After Adelaide,  Li Qiang will visit the capital city of Canberra and the city of Perth.
