(VOVworld) – National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan has urged the coal sector to develop sustainably, improve labour productivity, reduce costs, and ensure labour safety.

At Friday’s ceremony to mark the 80^th traditional day of the coal sector on November 12 in Quang Ninh province, Ms. Ngan said: “The Vietnam Coal and Mining Group, the Northeastern Corporation, and Quang Ninh province need to strengthen coordination to fully tap potential and mobilize all resources to develop the economy and social welfare. The coal sector’s plan should match local socio-economic development and environmental protection.”

At the ceremony, Deo  Nai coal mine once visited by President Ho Chi Minh was recognised as national relic site.
