At the meeting, the National Assembly Vice Chairman said that the European Commission (EC) will come to Vietnam for the fourth time to inspect the fight against illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing (IUU).
He urged the Coast Guard to coordinate with the Ministry of National Defense and localities to soon effectively implement solutions to remove IUU yellow cards and work towards sustainable marine environmental and resource protection.
National Assembly agencies will continue to study and propose amendments, supplements, and completion of a legal framework to create favorable conditions for the Coast Guard to fulfill its tasks, Phuong said.
