Throughout the night and into the early morning on Friday, Syrian government troops blasted artillery shells into rebel-held territory in the northern provinces of Idlib and Aleppo.

The attacks destroyed vehicles, weapons, and “neutralized” many Kurdish militants, Syria’s National Defense Ministry said in a statement without mentioning the specific number of casualties.

Observers have expressed concerns over a new wave conflicts in Syria in the coming days.
