(VOVWORLD) - More than 30 countries on Friday signed a letter rejecting a draft outcome document proposed by the host country Brazil at COP30 in Belém.
In the letter, countries from Europe, Latin America, Asia and various Pacific Island states said they could not accept a COP outcome without a clear roadmap for a just and orderly energy transition.
They argued that the draft does not meet the criteria of a credible conference outcome.
According to the latest version obtained by Western media, the text does not mention fossil fuels, despite host President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva repeatedly identifying fossil-fuel transition as a priority.
