Further advice on the use of boosters will be provided to the government soon by the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunization (ATAGI). Subject to the ATAGI’s advice, the general population booster program will begin no later than November 8. People with medical conditions, front-line medical workers, and nursing home staff will be prioritized in the first phase. The booster dose is not compulsory, but highly advised for high-risk individuals.

Italy will finish administering booster shots to people over 60 and health workers by the end of this year, said Deputy Health Minister Pierpaolo Sileri, and the rest of the population will follow in January.

Argentine Health Minister Carla Vizzotti announced Tuesday that Argentina will begin offering a third dose of coronavirus vaccine to high-risk groups. The booster shots will begin with health personnel in December, and continue next year.
