Countries opposes US’s decision to put Cuba back on “state sponsors of terrorism” list

(VOVWORLD) - Countries and organizations have opposed the US administration’s move to put Cuba back on a blacklist designating it a "state sponsor of terrorism."

The Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-Peoples' Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) condemned Washington's decision as arbitrary, saying that it violates “the United Nations Charter and international law, but it is rather an affront to the peoples globally.”

President of the Mercosur parliament, Oscar Laborde, said President Trump’s decision is not feasible and backward which can harm the US itself.

Venezuela criticizes the US’s move as an abuse of politics and terrorist issue to harm and provoke Cuba.

China has also opposed the United States for imposing political repression and sanctions on Cuba under the pretext of fighting terrorism. Beijing has called on the US and Cuba to develop an equal and mutually respectful relations.
