COVID-19: 175 new cases recorded in Vietnam on Tuesday

(VOVWORLD) - The Health Ministry confirmed 55 new COVID-19 infections on Tuesday evening including 53 domestic cases.

21 of the local cases were detected in Bac Giang province, 15 in Bac Ninh province, 14 in HCM city, 2 in Hanoi and 1 in Ha Tinh province.

The cases in Bac Giang are associated with clusters at local industrial parks while the cases in its neighbor Bac Ninh are also linked to a cluster at an industrial park.

10 of the cases in HCM city are related to a cluster that emerged from a Christian congregation based in Go Vap District on May 26, and 3 had contact with previously confirmed COVID-19 patients. The remaining one is being contact traced. 

The cases in Hanoi came into contact with COVID-19 patients.

The case in Ha Tinh is a 57-year-old man whose source of transmission is still unknown.

The latest cases brought Vietnam’s total count on Tuesday to 175 including 171 domestic cases.

Vietnam has confirmed more than 9,000 coronavirus infections so far. More than 3,500 patients have recovered and 55 have died.
