COVID-19 infections surpass 114 million globally
(VOVWORLD) - The number of COVID-19 infections surpassed 114 million globally as of Saturday noon, 2.5 million of them have died. The US tops the world in the number of patients (29 million) and deaths (523,000).
The UN Security Council on Friday unanimously adopted resolution 2565 (2021) detailing the delivery and access to COVID-19 vaccines in armed conflict and post-conflict situations and during complex humanitarian emergencies. The resolution calls for closer international cooperation and more financial support for initiatives aiming at an equitable and affordable access to the vaccines, including the WHO-led COVAX facility.
