(VOVWORLD) - The Health Ministry confirmed 1,438 local COVID-19 infections in 18 cities and provinces Friday morning, led by Ho Chi Minh city with more than 1,000 cases.
Other localities with a large number of infections included Dong Nai, Dong Thap, Khanh Hoa, Binh Duong, and Vinh Long. Hanoi recorded 3 more cases.
Vietnam has reported more than 42,000 cases of COVID-19 with 207 deaths so far.
