COVID-19: nearly 115 million cases confirmed worldwide
(VOVWORLD) - As of Sunday morning, the world has recorded more than 114.3 million COVID-19 infections and 2.5 million deaths, according to worldometers.info.
The rate of new infection has slowed down in the past 24 hours. The US remains the hardest-hit country by coronavirus (with more than 29 million cases and nearly 525,000 deaths), followed by India and Brazil.
Germany is recommending AstraZeneca's Covid-19 jab for those over 65 after a study showed it proved to be effective among the elderly.
Moscow on Saturday started vaccinating volunteers as part of the Sputnik Light Trials, according to its Deputy Mayor Anastasia Rakova.
