COVID-19: Record high cases per day reported in Hanoi

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam on Friday confirmed a total of 8,649 cases, the second highest recorded since the outset of the pandemic, according to the Ministry of Health. The day with the highest number of infections is July 24 with 9,225 cases.

Hanoi reported 119 cases in 24 hours, the highest number of daily cases so far. From April 29 to now, Hanoi has had 1,100 positive cases of SARS-CoV-2.

Ho Chi Minh City recorded 4,282 cases, down 310 cases.

In the past 12 hours, there were 3,657 more cases of COVID-19 in Vietnam. Ho Chi Minh City had the most cases: 1,542. During the day, 3,704 patients recovered.

As of Friday, Vietnam had 137,062 cases, including 2,235 imported cases and 134,827 domestic cases. The number of new cases recorded since April 27 to now is 133,257 cases, of which 32,710 patients have been declared cured.

Four provinces– Bac Kan, Dien Bien, Quang Ninh and Yen Bai– have gone through 14 days without recording a new case.
