COVID-19: Vietnam reports 241 new cases, 42 recoveries on Wednesday

(VOVWORLD) -From 12 am to 6 pm on Wednesday, Vietnam confirmed 138 new cases of COVID-19, including 10 imported cases which are quarantined in Kien Giang and Ho Chi Minh City.

128 community cases were detected in in Bac Giang (74), Ho Chi Minh City (31), Bac Ninh (16), Hanoi (6), and Hai Duong (1). In the past 24 hours, Vietnam recorded a total of 241 new cases.

On Wednesday, the Ministry of Health announced that 42 more COVID-19 cases have been cured and 1 more death, the 49th death related to COVID-19,  which is the first death in HCM City.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Hospital for Tropical Diseases, the 37-year-old female patient died of severe COVID-19 disease, shock, infection, heart failure on the basis of hypertension, and end-stage chronic kidney disease.

As of 6pm on Wednesday, Vietnam reported a total of 7,813 cases of COVID-19,  3,085 recoveries and 49 deaths.

13 provinces have passed 14 days with no new cases recorded. They include Yen Bai, Quang Ngai, Dong Nai, Nghe An, Quang Ninh, Quang Nam, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Nam Dinh, Hoa Binh, Tuyen Quang, Phu Tho, and Son La.
