COVID-19: Vietnam reports 8,620 cases on Sunday

(VOVWORLD) - In the past 24 hours, Vietnam recorded 8,620 Covid-19 cases, of which 23 were imported and 8,597 were locally-transmitted, the  Ministry of Health announced on Sunday evening.

From 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, Vietnam recorded 4,246 COVID-19 cases, including 21 imported cases and 4,225 domestic cases. The locality with the most new cases remained Ho Chi Minh City with 2,025 cases, followed by Binh Duong with 764, Khanh Hoa 298 cases and Long An with 251 cases.

On Sunday, 4,423 people recovered from the disease.

Since the outset of the pandemic in early 2020, Vietnam has confirmed 154,253 cases of COVID-19. 43,157 patients have recovered, 1,306 others have died.

4 provinces - Yen Bai, Dien Bien, Quang Ninh, and Bac Kan - have not recorded new cases for 14 days.
