(VOVWORLD) - The Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement of Trans-Pacific Partnership, which was signed last week in Santiago de Chile without the US, is considered the world’s biggest free trade agreement with specific benefits for its members.

Luong Hoang Thai, Director of the Ministry of Industry and Trade's Multilateral Trade Policy Department, said CPTPP countries have maintained commitments on opening markets in agriculture, fishery, garments and textiles, and footwear which is an opportunity for Vietnam to penetrate new markets of Canada, Mexico, and Peru. The trade pact will have positive impacts on Vietnamese farmers and fishermen helping them to escape poverty. Mr. Thai said Vietnam will have great export prospects with the CPTPP market of 500 million people. A World Bank study shows that the CPTPP directly helps Vietnam's GDP grow 1% .
