Crowds of foreigners visit central Vietnam during Lunar New Year holidays

(VOVWORLD) - Nearly 170 tourists from the Silversea cruise ship visited the Hue Royal Palace on Tuesday, the first day of the Year of the Pig.

During the Lunar New Year festival (Tet) from Tuesday to Thursday, the Hue Relic Complex is open free of charge to visitors and re-enacting royal ceremonies. Phan Thanh Hai, Director of the Hue Relic Conservation Center, said: Visitors are treated to folk games, royal games, and performances of Nha Nhac royal court music during Tet. They also enjoy the lighting of the Hue flag pole and firing of cannons. We try to make sure that visitors will experience to their utmost and enjoy the most of added services.”

Also on Tuesday, Vietnamese budget carrier Vietjet Air’s first flight of the Year of the Pig landed at Da Nang international airport, carrying 180 passengers from Seoul, South Korea, to the central city of Da Nang. Nguyen Xuan Binh, Deputy Director of the Da Nang Tourism Department, said:This is a good signal for the tourism sector and for Da Nang. This year we will continue to promote the city’s tourism internationally, especially in countries with direct air routes to Da Nang and other localities of Vietnam’s central region.”
