The event is part of the Goddess of Mercy festival at Ngu Hanh Son (the Marble Mountain) which opened on Monday (the 17th day of the second lunar month). Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, Chairwoman of the People’s Committee of Ngu Hanh Son district, said the annual cultural, religious and spiritual festival is one of the 15 major festivals of Vietnam. She added: “We hope that every pilgrim will join our effort to ensure order and environmental hygiene and eliminate obsolete customs. We believe that the image of our Marble Mountain will shine, drawing more visitors in Da Nang and elsewhere.”
