(VOVWORLD) -Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis's minority government approved a proposed bill on national referendums on Tuesday, setting stricter rules for holding votes on Czech leaving the EU.

Under the law, at least 850,000 signatures will be needed to call a national referendum and for a measure to win approval it will need the support of more than half of all eligible voters in the country. Voters will not decide issues related to laws, basic rights, state budgets, taxes, elections, or exemptions.
