Czech Republic to move embassy to Jerusalem

(VOVWORLD) - The Czech Republic’s President Milos Zeman on Wednesday announced that the Czech government plans to move its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

He said the process will take place in 3 steps: an honorary consulate will be opened in Jerusalem next month followed by other Czech institutions before the embassy’s actual transfer.
In a statement on Wednesday, the Czech foreign ministry said the Czech Republic last year considered Jerusalem the capital of Israel. The Czech Republic said it totally respects the joint policy of the EU, which considers Jerusalem the future capital of Israel and Palestine.
