Da Nang promotes Nam O fish sauce brand

(VOVWORLD) - Artisan Tran Ngoc Vinh, Chairman of the Nam O Fish Sauce Trade Association, introduced the 400-year-old history and development of Nam O fish sauce of Da Nang City at a program held on Friday at the municipal museum.

He also touched upon how  the sauce is made, how the ingredients are chosen, and processing devices and techniques.

“It’s a great honor for our traditional trade to be recognized as a National Intangible Heritage. Through this program, we hope young people can see how the traditional craft has been preserved. They have been instructed in how to make fish sauce. We want the state to pay more attention to our production, helping us  to introduce and display the product while promoting the traditional craft,” said artisan Vinh.

The traditional trade of making fish sauce from Nam O Village in Da Nang has been recognised as a National Intangible Heritage by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
