Denmark commits to assist Vietnam in green growth, water treatment, hygiene, and climate change response.

With this committed ODA, Denmark becomes the biggest donor in the EU for Vietnam this year. Ambassador John Nielsen said the sum will be focused on supporting poor communities, particularly in Dac Lac, Dac Nong, Lai Chau, Dien Bien, Ben Tre and Quang Nam provinces. The major areas of cooperation are in green growth, including energy efficiency and renewable energy, water treatment, hygiene, climate change response, culture, trade promotion, state management, and assistance for administrative and parliamentary reforms.
As Vietnam has been a middle income country, Ambassador Nelsen, said bilateral cooperation will continue to develop and the current development partnership will be gradually enhanced to the status of cooperation partnership.

The Ambassador expressed his belief that with Danish support, Vietnam would advance to green economic reform and that vulnerable people in areas affected by climate change would receive adequate assistance to cope with the changing situation.
