Mr. Ha was one of three keynote speakers at the event, which brought together more than 200 representatives from governments, businesses, and international organizations.
The Deputy PM said this is a historic moment in which the world is transitioning from a brown economy to a green one, with science and technology the key to climate change response and the green transition.
He said developed countries should lead in innovation and sci-tech development to produce green products for environment-friendly, low-emission infrastructure, transportation, and production, and international organizations should help ensure a fair allocation of resources and green technology transfers from developed to developing countries.
Mr. Ha said Vietnam is ready to join other nations, both developed and developing, in establishing a cooperation framework to serve the green transition.
As one of the three countries implementing the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) with G7 countries, Vietnam is actively promoting mechanisms for green finance, and directing private investment toward achieving emission reduction, green transformation, and sustainable development goals.
