Deputy PM Vu Van Ninh receives Hungary’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade

(VOVworld) - Deputy PM Vu Van Ninh hailed Hungary’s support to Vietnam during the latter's past struggle for national independence and reunification. At a meeting with Hungary’s Minister of External Economy and Foreign Affairs Peter Szijjarto in Hanoi on Tuesday. Ninh said bilateral trade and investment at around 200 million USD was still modest despite a 15 to 20 percent surge in their trade in recent years. He noted that Hungary’s credit assistance had helped Vietnam realize some important projects, including the Can Tho Oncology Hospital. He urged Hungary to continue its aid to Vietnam and applauded Hungary's support for the building of a plant exploiting the Red River's surface water. Ninh also suggested Hungary co-operate with Vietnam under the public-private partnership model to carry out a demographic data project which is being piloted in Hai Phong City.

Minister Szijjarto said Hungary hoped its relationship with Viet Nam would be a pillar in European Union – ASEAN relations in the future. He underlined enormous untapped potential in the two countries' co-operation and proposed enhance partnership in health care, medicine and clean water.
