(VOVworld)-Construction work has started on Trung Son Hydro power electric plant in the central province of Thanh Hoa.

Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai directs the construction work of Trung Son hydro power plant

This is the first hydro power plant in Vietnam ever funded by the World Bank. Addressing the ceremony on Saturday, Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai said the project would contribute to flood and drought control besides power generation. It is expected to benefit the environment and bring a better life for local residents thanks to World Bank support. The Deputy Prime Minister asked investor and contractors to complete the project on schedule and ensure construction quality while caring for resettlers in terms of infrastructure and cultivation land.
