(VOVworld) – Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue visited the Mekong Delta province of Hau Giang this week to monitor socio-economic development and responses to saline intrusion and drought.

Hue praised the resilience of local people and urged provincial leaders to encourage locals to restructure land and agriculture and promote successful cooperatives to develop production and increase the value of farm produce. Hue asked leaders from central to local levels to design an irrigation system capable of serving agricultural production and mitigating saltwater intrusion.
