(VOVWORLD) - A large Vietnamese flag over 2,000 square meters in size will be raised 40-50 meters high during a special Flag-salute Ceremony this November in Dien Bien Phu city, according to a plan announced by the Dien Bien provincial People's Committee.

The Flag-salute Ceremony will be accompanied by a Hot Air Balloon Festival showcasing 30 balloons. A highlight will be 14 balloons displaying the logos of Vietnam’s northern and central provinces, symbolizing the solidarity and unity of these localities.
This special event honors the fighting spirit that created the Dien Bien Phu victory 70 years ago, affirms the historical importance of the victory, inspires patriotism and national pride, and arouses a spirit of solidarity, a will to self-reliance, and an aspiration to build a prosperous, happy country.
