(VOVWORLD) - All fishing vessels operating at the two class-2 ports in Dong Thap Province have valid registrations and operation licenses, are equipped with vessel monitoring systems (VMS), and maintain continuous VMS signals throughout their journeys.

My Tho and Vam Lang ports can receive vessels of 15 meters or longer and, since 2024, have handled procedures for more than 9,000 vessel arrivals, with over 78,000 tons of seafood unloaded.
No seafood exports to the EU from the province have been found in violation of IUU fishing regulations. All certification procedures at the ports are processed through the eCDT system, ensuring transparency, traceability, and compliance.
“There are no violations at the ports. Any vessel detected with a disconnected monitoring device is immediately sanctioned. As for fishing logbooks, all vessels comply properly and strictly,” said Huynh Thanh Phong, Director of the Dong Thap Fishing Port Management Board.
Since 2024, Dong Thap has reported no cases of fishing vessels encroaching into foreign waters.
