DPRK’s rocket launch becomes trouble-spot at nuclear summit

(VOVworld)-The planned rocket launch of Democratic People’s Republic of Korea has stirred public concerns at a nuclear summit in Seoul. Meeting with international leaders on the sidelines of the Nuclear Security Summit on Tuesday, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon urged the DPRK to obey all UN Security Council resolutions. US President Barack Obama called on China to increase pressure on the DPRK to change its position on the nuclear issue, warning that Pyongyang will face further sanctions if it goes ahead with the rocket launch program scheduled for next month. South Korea’s Defense Ministry said it may shoot down the DPRK’s rocket if it strays into the South’s airspace. Meanwhile, the DPRK’s official KCNA news agency said that Pyongyang will never give up its right to launch a peaceful satellite, adding it has asked the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration to send experts to the site to observe the launch.
