Dragon motifs on 82 doctoral steles on display
(VOVWORLD) - The dragon motifs on the 82 doctoral steles at Van Mieu (the Temple of Literature) and Quoc Tu Giam (Vietnam’s first national university) are on display at an exhibit that opened in Hanoi on Wednesday.

The event shows off the talent and skill of the stone craftsmen. The doctorate steles are a valuable archive of history, culture, society and education in Vietnam during the feudal period.
Le Xuan Kieu, Director of the Centre for Van Mieu-Quoc Tu Giam Cultural and Scientific Activities, said, “What makes this exhibit different is that it focuses on the aesthetic value of the decorative dragon motifs on the stone steles. It is often difficult for the public to see the beauty of these dragon motifs when passing through the stele garden.”
The exhibition will run through August 26.
