Dutch semiconductor company inaugurates plant in Ho Chi Minh City

(VOVWORLD) -Besi, a Dutch company providing machinery for chip packaging, inaugurated a 2,000 square meters plant worth nearly 5 million USD in Ho Chi Minh City’s Hi-Tech Park on Wednesday. 

Besi is the first manufacturer of machinery for chip packaging to invest in Vietnam. In phase 1, it will produce molds and advanced accessories for the machinery system serving chip packaging. In phase 2, in the next two or three years, the company plans to expand its plant to produce machines for chip packaging.

Henk Jan Jonge Poerink, Senior Vice President-Global Operations at Besi, said that according to its investment plan, the project will employ thousands of Vietnamese workers and become a partner and supplier of chip packaging machinery to help develop the domestic semiconductor industry.
