East Timor’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation visits Vietnam

(VOVworld) - East Timor’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Hernaini Coelho da Silva is on an official visit to Vietnam. During talks on Thursday, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh said Vietnam wants to increase cooperation with East Timor.

Minister Hernaini said East Timor wants to learn from Vietnam’s experience in national development and boost cooperation with Vietnam. The two officials pledged strengthened cooperation in politics, economics, trade, investment, agriculture, forestry, fisheries, energy, information, and telecommunications.
They also agreed on the need to ensure navigation and aviation security and safety in the East Sea, resolve disputes through peaceful means in line with international law, including the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), and maintain peace and stability in the East Sea.
