(VOVworld) - The Pasteur Institute and Ho Chi Minh City’s Health Department on Wednesday inspected the isolation and monitoring of Ebola suspects in the community.

At the Preventive Medicine Centers of Thu Duc district and district 9, officials of the two agencies listened to solutions to deal with the situation when Ebola suspects are detected in residential areas. Associate Professor Phan Trong Lan, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City’s Pasteur Institute, said local preventive medicine networks are prepared to supply health check-up records, leaflets, and medical declarations for passengers who immigrate to Vietnam for the first time, but must be supervised medically.

Thu Duc district and district 9 are two localities in Ho Chi Minh City with guests coming from the Ebola-infected countries of Nigeria and Liberia. The visitors were told to contact the municipal Preventive Medicine Center and were advised to self monitor and delay travel further for 21 days.

Da Nang city is implementing preventive measures against Ebola: stopping visitors at border crossings, scanning their body temperature, and requiring medical declarations. Two facilities have been set up to treat Ebola patients and quarantine areas have been equipped with all necessary medical equipment and human resources.
