(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam has not been able to open its doors to foreign visitors, but the tourism industry should prepare itself to welcome foreign visitors once the epidemic is over and the country reopens, said Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Ngoc Thien.

Vietnam has gone 2 months with no new COVID-19 infection in the community, but the impact of the epidemic on the economy, especially the tourism industry, is clear, he said. The tourism industry continues to stimulate domestic tourism, encouraging Vietnamese people to travel safely in Vietnam, said Minister Thien.
“One current important task of the tourism industry is to support businesses and tourism workers who have been hurt by COVID-19. We should help businesses access government relief aid, so they can get past this difficult period and start to prosper again,” he said.
