Egyptian passenger plane hijacked
(VOVworld) – An Egypt Air Boeing 737-800 MS81 was hijacked on Monday while it was flying from the Mediterranean coastal city of Alexandria to the Egyptian capital, Cairo, with 55 passengers and 7 crew members onboard. The flight was diverted to Larcana airport in Cyprus.

The hijacker freed several women and children and allowed Egyptian nationals to disembark.
Earlier the hijacker threatened to detonate an explosive belt. A special rescue team was deployed to the airport.
